Our basketball coaches provide instruction and guidance, as well as instill a sense of respect.

Jon Owens is dedicated to helping youth find the joy in playing and DSC_0160learning about basketball. Our goal is to provide a sports outlet for youth. We aim to teach kids what it takes to be a champion and be a participating team member.

League Goals
The goal of the BAA is to provide the highest quality fun, positive learning environment for basketball skill and personal character development. BAA Philly encourages good sportsmanship the proper teaching of basketball fundamentals and a greater sense of purpose beyond basketball. Ultimately, BAA Philly aims to provide a fun environment to play basketball with peers in a safe, positive environment encouraging team play and good fundamentals.

The BAA sports league provides a foundation for camaraderie and a safe place to make friends while enjoying the sport of basketball.

Friendship and good sportsmanship are two ideals that the participants of the BAA basketball league strive to achieve. This year’s basketball season is the example of these two themes.

The Dream Team from the 10-12 year-old age group have an undefeated record this year of 8-0, but what is really important are the lessons taught to the kids on and off the court. Drilling the shot from the free-throw line or making the lay-up helps build pride, but there is a bigger picture to be recognized.
